I met Tabitha and Hunter back in the spring when they reached out to me about shooting their wedding. We met in downtown Seattle for their urban engagement shoot and spent the hour roaming around the streets of Pioneer Square and Occidental Park. I loved hearing about their love story, and I'm excited to share some of the highlights from their wedding photos!
They got married on September 7th, 2019 at the Seattle Washington Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had their reception at Hansen Place in Sumner, WA.
The day was perfect weather - bright and overcast, but still nice and warm. You would have never known a crazy thunder and lightening storm would roll through that night!
I learned a lot at this wedding! Personally, I don't know anyone who is part of the LDS church, so this was a new experience for me. Tabitha was so sweet and sent me plenty of resources to learn about the customs of this religion and wedding.
As I was not allowed in the Temple during the ceremony, I waited for the happy couple outside for their grand reveal. This is an exciting moment because it's the first time they're presented as husband and wife to the world.
After they greeted their family and friends, we went over to the Temple steps to snap some large group photos. It was a big group of people, but everyone was just happy to be there!
Then we moved on to the family and friend portraits. I wanted to move away from the stairs since other photographers were waiting for the spot, but also wanted to keep the epic Temple in the background. Luckily, we found the perfect spot just paces away.
After family and friend photos, we cranked out some bridal party shots. And then it was on to my favorite part: Couple's portraits!
And then we all went down to Sumner to have the reception at The Hansen Place. I haven't spent much time that far south, but Sumner was a super cute little town and this venue was a hidden gem.
